Summary of Seminars
Members of Eritrean Canadian pro-democracy invited me as a guest speaker.
The tour goals were to:
– Mobilize our community.
– Nurture ideology that helps Eritreans liberate themselves from years of brainwashing by the Eritrean regime.
– Establish a platform that fosters youth-led movements, basically creating new leaders.

Background
The exodus of Eritrean youth has been happening for years. The perplexing reality is that Eritreans seem to surrender to the status quo, despite the Eritrean people having long traditions of self-rule and, more importantly, the rule of law in a traditional form.
The simple answer is that the current Eritrean regime has created a national ideology, in other words, nationalism, that was fashioned from Maoist vanguard communist roots.
The current ideology could be described as a blend of ultranationalism with vanguard communism; one could compare it to Nazi Germany or the Khmer Rouge.
Solution
Forge a new ideology based on national identity on the equality and rights of individuals. Reject all narratives that were crafted during the liberation struggle known in Tigrinya as “Ghedli”.
The Eritrean Bright Future movement, of which I am the spokesperson, and I chaired from 2020 to 2023. Championed and nurtured this ideology that helped liberate so many youths and helped them identify the Eritrean Regime as the root cause of the misery of the Eritrean people.
Tour of Canada

I started my tour in Winnipeg, then Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Toronto. In each city, we had massive attendance from Eritreans from all walks of life. I met many motivated old and Young Eritreans who are enlightened and work tirelessly to curtail the long arm of the Eritrean regime in Canada.
Throughout my tour, I met so many influential leaders, from religious to cultural leaders, representing various ethnic groups originally from Eritrea. In our meetings we discussed the future of Eritrea. More importantly, we agreed on nurturing further events to rebuild social cohesion and trust.
How are we combating the Eritrean regime?
A new movement was sparked in 2022 called “Brigade Nhamdhu” that focuses on combating all regime activities in Western countries. From Europe, Canada, and the United States, members of Brigade Nhamdhu are working tirelessly to inform and advocate authorities of the danger of the Eritrean regime’s Transnational repression and foreign interference.
Currently, members of Brigade Nhamdhu are involved in many legal initiatives to lobby legislative bodies to enact laws to criminalize and curtail Eritrean regime activities. The Eritrean regime is notorious for circumventing Western democratic institutions; the infamous tool is so-called cultural festivals, which simply are recruiting events tailored for the Eritrean diaspora to indoctrinate them into the regime ideology, becoming a tool of repression.

During my tour, I met with Honorable MP & Sec. Diversity, inclusion, and person with Disability Sameer Zuberi, we had a productive meeting. We discussed our activities and advocacy pertaining to exposing the Eritrean regime’s transnational repression.
I met with Deputy Director Eastern Africa Global Affairs Canada Alyssa Nunes and staff; we discussed the status of affairs in East Africa, particularly Eritrea. I indicated that we are in a critical time and that the winds of Regime change in Eritrea are favorable.
Summary
Our movement is growing globally. We have a clear goal: freeing Eritreans and installing a legitimate democratic government.

Good job. Justice will prevail.
