This study provides a detailed analysis of what the Eritrean diaspora faces. These are two of them:

Eritreans have more generally been able to rely on better transnational connections, these networks are under increasing strain. Moreover, Eritreans’ perceived ability to access resources paradoxically makes them more likely targets of trafficking and other forms of exploitation

Despite the considerable violence and deceit experienced by respondents during their journeys, most stories contained instances of solidarity and support provided by other displaced people and local populations.
