BW-BNH Australia’s Statement on the 2024–2025 Justice Struggle Outcome

Blue Wave Brigade NHamedu (BW-BNH) Australia releases this statement to present an accurate and unbiased account of the recent struggle between BW-BNH on one side, and the oppressive regime and its supporters on the other side. While this information is not new to us, it is crucial to clarify the facts for those misled by the regime’s disinformation and deprived of the truth.

Protests against the Eritrean regime have persisted for years, but since 2023, the PFDJ’s operations in Australia have been significantly weakened due to BW-BNH’s consistent efforts.

The regime, having mistaken the opposition’s measured approach as weakness, has now found its support base fractured and demoralized.

BW-BNH’s campaigns and demonstrations successfully disrupted the regime’s plans, dismantled PFDJ structures, deepened internal divisions, and disrupted their finance that would typically be directed towards serving the authoritarian regime’s propaganda and silencing pro-democracy Eritreans. The regime has also been using the Eritrean National Communities Council (ENCC) as a tool to operate its activities within Australia and New

Zealand, attempting to use this organization to silence pro-democracy Eritrean Australians through its foreign power interference actions and, at times, even to accuse BW-BNH members in an effort to suppress opposition. BW-BNH will continue monitoring these activities and, in the future, intends to release credible documentation exposing direct instructions and plans by the regime to use ENCC to target diaspora pro-democracy Eritrean Australians.

A major turning point came in January 2024, when BW-BNH successfully led a campaign that resulted in the cancellation of four regime-linked events hosted by the regime through its arm, ENCC. The fifth event, held under the pretext of a birthday celebration, ended in unintended clashes where property was damaged and individuals on both sides sustained injuries. Police intervened, and legal proceedings continued until May 2025.

The regime has since been left more vulnerable than ever:

1. It has been exposed before Australian authorities and the wider public for its role in facilitating foreign power interference.

2. Its agents were exposed for corruption, incompetence, and self-serving deception.

3. Its ability to collect money has been tremendously weakened, as many members are no longer afraid of the PFDJ and have started refusing to contribute.

4. Its attempts at radicalising children through festivals are no longer public or showy as before.

5. Significant parts of its support base have kept silent or abandoned rather than offering active support.

6. The morale of both the regime at home and its supporters in Australia has been severely weakened.

Despite the regime’s attempts to mislead its followers into believing they had legal backing, the truth soon emerged, they had no involvement or support in the process. BW-BNH members, however, faced the proceedings with dignity and responsibility, and the outcome left the regime weakened and exposed.

This result has raised awareness within the Australian legal system, exposing the regime’s operations in Australia and leading the 4G to dismantle the false “community” claims used in the charges.

The PFDJ’s Downfall

Following this defeat, PFDJ-aligned community coalitions across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and New Zealand have collapsed, enduring heavy financial setbacks as a result of their failed activities. As part of this wider fallout, diplomatic leadership has also been disrupted. The former Consul General left Australia in June 2025, and to date, no replacement has been appointed. This reflects the regime’s growing concern over its diminishing control and credibility abroad.

This outcome is a clear testament to the success of BW-BNH’s resistance and the weakening of the regime’s influence across Australia and the region.
