Just one day after President Yoweri Museveni signed into law a bill toughening penalties for gay people, a newspaper in Uganda has reacted in predictable fashion.
Red Pepper has published a front page “outing” what it calls are 200 “Top Homos”.
Apparently the actual number named inside is smaller, but that is not the point. How many will survive this witch-hunt?
Archbishop Tutu has spoken out against this purge. Why is he almost alone among African leaders? Why has the African Union not acted?
