As everyone knows, on Tuesday Theresa May is almost certain to go down to a thumping defeat in the House of Commons on her Brexit plan. What next? Here’s a prediction.

Wednesday: Labour Vote of No Confidence. With votes from the Democratic Unionists, the Northern Ireland Protestant party, Theresa May wins. She continues as Prime Minister.

Thursday: EU Council Meeting. Theresa May wins a (very minor) concession.

Friday (or a little later): Theresa May returns to the House of Commons with her new, slightly revised Brexit plan. She says: its this plan or leaving the EU without a deal. Faced with this ultimatum some refusenix crumble and she gets the revised plan through Parliament.

This might all be absolutely incorrect. Let’s see…
