You need to know what is happening in South Africa – and it’s terrible.

Xenophobia has forced over 10,000 Africans to flee the country, with Malawi, Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya among the countries pulling their people out – many more just leaving.

This is driven by Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma whose movement “March and March” has given Africans until 30 June to leave or face the consequences.

Utterly appalling – especially when Africa gave sanctuary to so many South Africans during the Anti-Apartheid struggle.

Why is this happening? The reasons are complex, but come down to just one: poverty. Unemployment of young men and women is over 60%. Jobs are so rare many find them impossible to find.

So people fall back on the oldest excuse: “its the foreigners who are taking our work! Send them home, or they die!”

Since 2022 evidence that 148 Africans have been killed in South Africa during attacks on migrants — committed by either state forces, violent mobs, or unidentified perpetrators.
